Atlas
OpenAI's short-lived AI web browser, launched 2025 and shut down in 2026.
Atlas was OpenAI’s attempt at a full web browser with AI built into every tab. Launched in late 2025, it was shut down about eight months later, with its best features living on as a Chrome extension.
Its short life is a useful lesson in how fast the AI product landscape moves: even the biggest labs launch, learn and fold products within a year.
