Beatport
The dominant online store for electronic music, where working DJs buy the tracks they play.
Beatport is where most professional and semi professional DJs buy their music. It sells electronic tracks in DJ friendly formats, with the key and tempo listed, and its charts are treated as a genuine signal of what is working in clubs. That makes its rules about what may be sold unusually consequential for producers.
In August 2026 it banned tracks made entirely or mostly by AI, while still allowing music where AI was one tool among many, and started screening uploads with a detection system from its partner Beatdapp. Its own survey found 60 percent of users would not play AI generated music in a set. The move follows a broader squeeze across music platforms as the share of machine made uploads climbs.
