Cisco
A US networking and security company whose gear runs much of the internet's plumbing.
Cisco is a large American technology company best known for the routers, switches and security products that connect offices and data centres. Most people never see its hardware, but a lot of the internet passes through it.
In recent years Cisco has pushed into AI, both by building it into its products and by buying startups. For readers of AI news it mostly appears as an example of how a big, established company is trying to use AI on its own old software.
