Gartner
A US research and advisory firm whose surveys and forecasts companies use to guide technology spending.
Gartner is a research company that tells businesses what is happening in technology and what to buy. It runs surveys of tech leaders, publishes market forecasts and holds big conferences, such as its IT Symposium in Orlando.
When a headline says “Gartner finds that…”, it is worth a quick look at who was asked and how. Its numbers are widely quoted and often useful, but the firm also sells advice, and the exact survey details are not always public.
