LM Studio
A free desktop app for downloading and running open AI models on your own computer.
LM Studio is a friendly application that lets you browse, download and chat with open AI models locally, without writing code. It plays a similar role to Ollama, aimed at people who want to run models on their own machine.
It matters for the same reason local AI does in general: your data stays on your device, there is no per-use bill, and you are not dependent on any company’s servers.
