Meta Muse
Meta's consumer AI assistant app, which links to a user's devices and can shop on their behalf.
Muse is Meta’s assistant, released as a standalone app rather than only inside Facebook or WhatsApp, and it climbed to the top of the US App Store free charts within a week of launch. It is built around the Muse model family and is being wired into other companies’ services, including Shopify, so it can search catalogs and complete purchases.
Because it links to a user’s devices and holds a token proving who they are, it is a higher privilege piece of software than a normal app. That came into focus in September 2026 when security researcher Patrick Wardle disclosed a flaw in the Mac version that let any local program redirect dictated audio and reach a linked iPhone, and advised people not to install it until it was fixed.
