Neill Blomkamp
The director of District 9, now making films with AI video generation.
Neill Blomkamp directed District 9 and Elysium, films known for making modest budgets look enormous. That history explains his interest in AI video: it is the same instinct for getting ambitious images without a studio-scale budget.
His approach is notable for being careful rather than cavalier. For his AI-generated short he licensed the faces and voices of the real people involved and hired human concept artists, which is a different proposition from generating likenesses without asking.
