Ramp

A US corporate card and expense management company whose spending data has become a widely cited indicator of real AI adoption.

Ramp sells corporate cards and expense software to American businesses. It turns up constantly in AI coverage for a side effect of that job: it can see what tens of thousands of companies actually pay for, month by month, and it publishes an anonymised AI Index from that data.

That makes it a rare source of hard numbers in a field full of announcements. When a lab says adoption is soaring, Ramp can show what companies really bought. The usual caveats apply: it only sees its own customers, the sample skews towards technology companies, and it counts spending rather than value. It is a thermometer, not a verdict.
