Similarweb
An Israeli analytics company that estimates how much traffic websites get, widely quoted in AI market share reports.
Similarweb sells estimates of web traffic. It does not have access to other companies’ servers, so it infers visitor numbers from a mix of panel data, public sources, and modelling. When you read that one chatbot holds a certain percentage of the market, the number very often came from here.
Worth knowing before you quote it: these are estimates, and they cover websites only. Mobile apps, desktop clients, and API usage do not show up, which in 2026 leaves out a large share of how people actually use AI assistants. Good for spotting a trend over months, poor for settling an argument about who is winning.
