AI for Science

AI for Science is Anthropic’s initiative to put its models in the hands of researchers who could not otherwise afford them, through grants of free usage credits. Calls tend to be focused on a specific field, such as rare disease research, and run to a fixed deadline.

The broader idea it belongs to is that AI may be more useful for sifting scientific literature and spotting patterns across scattered data than for anything it writes. Areas with few patients and little commercial funding are exactly where that help is scarcest.
