AI text detector
Software that estimates whether a text was written by a human or by AI.
AI text detectors, such as GPTZero, Originality.ai and Pangram, analyse writing style to estimate whether a text came from a human or a machine. Schools, publishers and platforms increasingly use them.
Treat their scores as estimates, not verdicts. Detectors can flag honest human writing as AI, and 2026 research shows they can be fooled by models imitating a personal style. No score should decide anything important on its own.
