Brave
A privacy-focused web browser with its own search engine and AI features.
Brave makes a web browser built around blocking trackers and ads by default, and it runs its own independent search index rather than relying on Google’s. That independent index is what has drawn it into AI: its data is valuable for training and answering questions, which is where disputes over scraping and licensing begin.
It is a reminder that the fight over AI training data is not only about publishers and labs, but also about the search and browsing infrastructure in between.
