Google AI Studio
Google's free browser playground for trying Gemini models and getting an API key.
Google AI Studio is a web page where you can talk to Google’s Gemini models directly, without writing any code or paying anything. You pick a model, type a prompt, adjust a few settings, and see what comes back. It is also where you get an API key if you later want to use those models inside your own software.
It is genuinely the easiest way to test whether a new Gemini model is any good at your particular task, and it is worth knowing about even if you never build anything. One thing to check before pasting anything sensitive: free-tier usage is generally not treated the same as paid API usage when it comes to whether your inputs may be used to improve the service.
