Moonshot AI
The Chinese lab behind the popular Kimi models.
Moonshot AI is one of China’s leading AI labs, best known for its Kimi model family. Kimi K3, released as an open model in 2026, became so popular that the company temporarily paused paid subscriptions because demand outran its computing capacity.
Moonshot belongs to the group of Chinese labs, alongside DeepSeek, Alibaba’s Qwen team and Z.ai, whose aggressive releases keep pushing prices down worldwide.
