News Corp
The Murdoch media group behind the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.
News Corp is the media conglomerate controlled by the Murdoch family, whose titles include the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and others. As a major producer of the journalism AI systems are trained on and summarise, it has become a central voice in the fight over whether that use requires payment.
Its disputes with AI companies are part of a broader question with no settled answer: when a model learns from and reproduces news content, who owes whom.
