SoftBank
A Japanese investment giant making some of the largest bets in AI infrastructure.
SoftBank is a Japanese conglomerate best known for enormous technology investments through its Vision Fund. In AI it has become a central financier, notably as a backer of the Stargate data-centre buildout with OpenAI.
It matters because AI at scale needs vast amounts of money for chips and power, and SoftBank is one of the few players willing to write cheques that large. Its involvement often signals a project measured in tens of billions.
