TabPFN

An open model built for spreadsheets and databases rather than for text.

TabPFN is a tabular foundation model: it was pretrained on table-shaped data, so it makes predictions about rows and columns the way a language model makes predictions about words. Give it a spreadsheet and a column to predict, and it works without the lengthy setup traditional machine learning usually needs.

Built by Prior Labs and published in Nature, it is open source and has passed three million downloads. It is a useful reminder that not all consequential AI has anything to say.
