IRON

XPeng's humanoid robot, built to move and work the way a person does, heading into mass production by the end of 2026.

IRON is the humanoid robot built by XPeng, the Chinese electric carmaker. “Humanoid” just means it’s designed with a human-like shape, roughly two arms, two legs and a head, so it can work in spaces and with tools built for people, rather than needing custom equipment.

XPeng is planning to start mass-producing IRON by the end of 2026, with the first units deployed at its own retail stores and industrial sites. Commercial sales to outside customers, in China and eventually other markets, are expected to follow in 2027. The project is backed by a robotics funding round of over $900 million from investors including Alibaba and Tencent.
