XPeng
A Chinese electric carmaker that's now pouring money into humanoid robots through its robotics subsidiary.
XPeng started out building electric cars in China, competing in the same crowded market as Tesla and BYD. Over the past couple of years, it’s leaned on that same manufacturing know-how, batteries, motors, sensors, factories, to expand into humanoid robots, machines built to move and work roughly the way a person does.
The robotics side of the business, sometimes referred to internally as Dogotix, raised over $900 million in August 2026 from investors including Alibaba and Tencent, valuing it above $6.3 billion. Its main product is a humanoid robot called IRON, which XPeng plans to start mass-producing by the end of 2026.
