Claude Science is an application from Anthropic aimed at researchers. It bundles dozens of scientific “skills” — structured tools for tasks like analysing data or checking citations — together with a verification agent that double-checks claims and references.
Its most notable feature is that it can run locally, meaning sensitive research data never has to leave the lab’s own machines. That directly addresses a common barrier to AI adoption in science and medicine, where privacy, confidentiality and regulatory rules often forbid sending data to an outside cloud.
Claude Science is a good example of a broader shift this site follows closely: powerful AI that keeps your data under your own control, rather than requiring you to hand it to a remote provider.
