Harvey
A US company that builds AI tools specifically for lawyers and law firms.
Harvey is one of the best-known companies building AI for a single profession rather than for everyone. Its tools sit inside the working day of a lawyer: drafting documents, reviewing contracts, digging through case files, and increasingly running multi-step tasks on their own. Large law firms and corporate legal departments are its main customers.
For years Harvey sold a layer on top of other people’s models, mostly from OpenAI and Anthropic. In August 2026 it launched Harvey II and, with it, Harvey Tenet, its first model trained in-house for legal work. That shift, from reselling general intelligence to owning a specialised model, is a pattern worth watching in other industries too.
