Hy Image
Tencent's image generation model, which creates pictures from text and edits existing ones inside the same system.
Hy Image is Tencent’s family of image models, part of its wider Hunyuan line. Version 3.5, previewed in September 2026, does both text-to-image and image-to-image in one model, so you can generate a picture and then keep refining it in the same conversation instead of starting over with a separate editing tool. It accepts several reference images at once and outputs up to 2K resolution.
Tencent claims quality on a par with ByteDance’s Seedream and slightly ahead of Google’s Nano Banana Pro, though those comparisons come from its own designers and it published no hard numbers. The more telling detail is the price, a few cents per image, which is roughly where every major Chinese image model now sits.
