Linux Foundation
A non-profit that hosts and governs major open-source projects, now including AI ones.
The Linux Foundation is a non-profit that provides a neutral home for important open-source software, handling the governance, funding and legal groundwork so competing companies can collaborate. It grew up around Linux but now hosts far more.
In AI it increasingly serves as the venue where rival firms agree on shared open tools and standards, which is one way the industry tries to avoid every company building the same plumbing separately.
