Warner Chappell Music
The publishing arm of Warner Music Group, one of the three biggest music publishers in the world.
Warner Chappell Music is the music publishing division of Warner Music Group and one of the three majors in publishing, alongside Sony Music Publishing and Universal Music Publishing Group. Like every publisher, it represents songs rather than recordings, which means it acts for the songwriters behind a catalogue of well over a million compositions.
It has been an active party in the legal fight over AI training data. In August 2026 it joined Sony Music Publishing in suing Anthropic, its CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann in California, alleging that lyrics were obtained through torrenting and scraping and reproduced by Claude.
