Wear OS
Google's operating system for smartwatches, the watch equivalent of Android.
Wear OS is what runs on most non-Apple smartwatches, including Google’s own Pixel Watch and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch line. It is a stripped-down relative of Android built for a tiny screen, a small battery and short interactions, and it leans heavily on voice because typing on a watch is miserable.
That reliance on voice is why assistant changes hit Wear OS harder than they hit phones. On a watch, the assistant is not one input method among several, it is most of the interface. When Google replaces Assistant with Gemini across Android and Wear OS, watch owners feel the difference more than phone owners do.
