Demis Hassabis
The Nobel-winning co-founder and CEO of Google DeepMind.
Demis Hassabis co-founded DeepMind and leads Google’s AI research as CEO of Google DeepMind. A former chess prodigy and neuroscientist, he shared a Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the AlphaFold work that predicted protein structures.
He is one of the more measured senior voices in AI, so when he talks about timelines or calls for international oversight of powerful models, it tends to carry weight.
