Hugging Face
The main public library where open AI models are shared and downloaded.
Hugging Face is where open AI models live. When a lab releases a model’s weights, this is almost always where they land, alongside datasets, demos and the code needed to run them. Think of it as the shared shelf the open side of the industry keeps its work on.
It matters more than its low profile suggests. Download counts on Hugging Face have become the informal scoreboard for which open models people actually use, as opposed to which ones score well on benchmarks.
