Alphabet
Google's parent company, the holding company that owns Google and DeepMind.
Alphabet is the corporate parent created to sit above Google, holding Google itself along with other bets like the Waymo self-driving unit and, crucially for AI, the DeepMind research lab.
You mostly see the name in financial news: when reports talk about Alphabet’s earnings or its spending on AI data centres, they mean the whole group, of which Google and its Gemini models are by far the largest part.
