Codex
OpenAI's AI coding agent that writes and fixes software on its own.
Codex is OpenAI’s coding agent: you describe what you want, and it works through the code changes step by step, runs tests and opens proposals for review. It competes with tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
Coding agents like Codex matter beyond programming: they are the testing ground for AI that plans and executes long tasks rather than just answering questions.
